Tw: suicide

image

idk how many of you used follow Salwa (tyara4evr), but she recently passed away. Some people are saying it’s because of a heart attack, but her friends said that she committed suicide. I don’t think she will gain any media attention in the ME because it’s suicide and khaleeji countries will always care about their image over everything.

She went through so much, especially when her family found out about her views on religion, and she wrote a bit about it on her blog. I found these pictures from twitter, it’s written by her friend and is more about how much she suffered from her family’s abuse.

I knew Salwa for a couple of years, she had at least two suicide attempts that I know of.

Here’s her messages after the first attempt since we became friends (she had attempts beforehand).

Here’s the message after her second attempt

Her brother did beat her, and her mother was constantly in the way of her getting professional psychological help. She was constantly surrounded by toxic people. She didn’t own a phone, she wasn’t allowed to leave the house by herself, she was constantly under the suspicion of her mother and disgusting brother. Her goal was to leave the country and start anew…she loved to draw and express herself through art and she was so good at gaming. Her only constant companion was her cat olafur. She was forcefully separated from someone she loved with the help of the police. The government isn’t helping women, it’s only covering up the abuse that their families subject them to. Please don’t forget her :’(

so I finally sat down and translated the arabic message in this post so it is accessible to everyone, please, please give it a read:

“I want to tell you the story of my friend, and I want this to spread. I know there will be girls who will come out and say we are comfortable and our country is providing us with everything we need” but these girls don’t suffer like the rest of the othere.

my friend Salwa was an artist, a smart girl but an introvert in university. she suffered from anxiety, she was forced to wear the niqab (face covering) but after a while she stopped wearing it at the university and she did not want to wear it. one of her neighbors saw her without it and told her family and they made a big deal about it and she told them what she thought of religion.

her brother of course did not like what she said and he went to the university and complained. not about the niqab but he said one of the professors there is brainwashing her and this poor professor was transferred to a location where he can only teach other males. and the dean told her to consider and withdraw from her ideas.

after we graduated she suffered a lot from her family, her mental health deteriorated and she began seeing mental health professionals but they didn’t help her and they gave her medication and that was it. and one day they took her to an exorcist and they sat her down on a black chair. after this experience she returned home and tried to commit suicide, this was her first attempt.

she was not allowed to work unless it was a place that is sex-segregated and she couldn’t leave the house unless she was accompanied by someone. I communicated with her through emails and social media only. and one time she fought with her brother and he beat her up so badly he banged her head against the wall but of course they didn’t take her to the hospital so she wouldn’t report it and they didn’t let her keep any money.

she went to the police but no one gave her justice. one of the lawyers told her “thank your god others are in worse situations than yours” during that year she was hospitalized a lot in mental hospitals and she tried to run away but she returned cause otherwise they would’ve fired the nurse and she didn’t want to cause suffering to that person. she tried running away but she didn’t have her passport or money. and she tried committing suicide at least 2-3 times.

they tried treating with electroshock therapy so her suicidal tendencies would cease, but it didn’t work. she begged her psychiatrist to help her run away but he said “wouldn’t it be unfair to break your poor mother’s heart?” they were supposed to help her but they only returned her to the environment that was toxic to her.

Salwa committed suicide because she couldn’t handle a world that doesn’t give her justice or help her overcome her difficulties. her family of course said she died from a heart attack on her bed because it is a scandal to say she committed suicide. there’s a lot of things I haven’t mentioned but not all women are happy and have all of their rights here"

This gave me nausea..

The SHEER STUPIDITY is what really gets me. How awfully dull, foolish, stupid their opinions are. When I think of the millions of women - their sisters, wives, daughters - who are told they are less intelligent, less worth, less everything in comparison to men. And then you see these actual “great” men in a video like this, how idiotic and mundane they are. How illogical their “reasoning”. Lack of basic emotional intelligence. So quick to turn to violence. And really, how much actual violence they had to use to inflict this stupidity on half of their population. Poor sisters, I am so sorry…

cliteralviolence

They don’t have to think. They can get away without thinking because they so easily turn to violence when things don’t go their way and that keeps women afraid. Men are trash.

“But but it’s just Islam not men!” Bullshit, this is what all males are at their core. Evil, twisted, testosterone addled apes.
